Decide the dates, hours, department and rate first, post them where verified doctors can see them, check the registration, and brief the doctor before the shift. The faster the posting is complete, the faster a doctor accepts.
A doctor can only say yes to something clear. Write down the start and end time, the department or ward, what the doctor will be responsible for, and the rate you will pay for the whole shift.
If any of these is missing, doctors have to ask, and many simply move on to the next shift.
State the speciality or qualification you need and any specific skills, such as ICU or theatre experience. Asking for more than the shift needs shrinks the number of doctors who can accept.
Confirm the doctor's registration against the State Medical Council or NMC register. Then send a short brief: where to report, who to ask for, who the senior on call is, and where the doctor can rest.
On Rounds the registration check is done before a doctor can accept, and contact details open to both sides once a shift is accepted.
Doctors remember hospitals that pay on the agreed day and cancel rarely. If you must cancel or change the hours, say so as early as you can and give the reason.
Posting on Rounds is free for hospitals, and the hospital pays the doctor directly.
Every registration checked against NMC records. Zero commission, the hospital pays the doctor directly.
